My favorite pet is my dog Peenut, a very loveable Dachshund. He has been part of my family for 9 years now, ever since 3rd grade in the beginning of the school year. He is a really lazy dog, but he loves to cuddle with you and steal your blankets when its cold. He may be a lazy dog, but he is also very smart compared to my other dog. Somehow, he learned how to open my door when it's closed and he knows how to knock on it when he wants to go in. It's odd but cute when I hear his knocking and he invites himself into my room while I'm doing something else. He also is known for sunbathing outside a lot, to the point where he starts to smell and need a bath sooner than the other dog, Ryu, and it's very peculiar seeing my dog lie there and just absorb that sun like he's having a nice day at the beach. Both of us have a really laid back personality and its funny that some dogs really reflect their ownder's personality, in my case this has been proven to be true. Dogs are known as man's best friend and this is very true when it comes to my relationship with me and my dog. We've been family and friends for 9 years and I hope many more to come!
The Dachshund was a breed that was made to be a hunting dog for badgers because of their body size which allowed them to get in and out of badger selts easily.A long with being a hunting dog, they are also the smallest breed that was made for hunting. There are two types of Dachshunds, standard which are the ones with longer coats, and miniature which are the ones with short coats. Dachshunds are so lovable that they are the 10th most popular dog, even Queen Victoria loved these dogs. Overall these lovable dogs are very unique, both in their body shape and in their history.
To finish off this assignment, I thought it would be nice to put some silly and cute pictures of Dachshunds! Here are a few photos of Dachshunds that I thought looked really cute. I would have preferred to have pictures of my own dog, but with the restrictions of this being a class assignment, I was unable to obtain photos of my own dog. The first picture displayed is a Dachshund that is relaxing on top of a red pillow. The second photo is a small black Dachshund puppy that has an adorable look on his face. Lastly, we have a cute Dachshund puppy inside of a hot dog bed for the little joke on how many people call Dachshunds weiner dogs.
